Universal Studios is one of the other major attractions of the Orlando area with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter being the latest addition to the themeparks. Opened early in 2010 in Orlando, Florida, it is a fitting shrine to the world’s biggest ever film and book phenomenon. The highlight ride in the park is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey which takes guests through scenes and rooms from the blockbuster movies with the turreted building made to look 700 feet tall!
At 8 hectares and more than two years in the making (not to mention the more than $200-million price tag), plus some of the biggest show talent involved, this much-anticipated attraction has enough events to appease the child and the child in you. The moment you enter its fabled entrance, where the ornate sign overhead reads " Please Respect The Spell Limits," you'll find cobbled streets, crooked chimneys, snow-covered rooftops and the famous steam-spewing Hogwarts Express train engine, with a costumed conductor ready to greet you. In fact, most of the staff in the park stay in character, which makes you feel like you're an extra in the hit films.
