Mair-Y-Coed is a large self catering detached house in the heart of Betws Y Coed which sleeps 10-12 , its ideal for self-catering groups and family groups looking for a property in the heart of Betws Y Coed and Snowdonia we are very happy to accept short term lets ( minimum 3 nights ). Great for a self catering break in Snowdon. 

The holiday cottage in North Wales is right in the centre of Betws Y Coed and an ideal  centre for touring Snowdonia and North Wales. Walkers , climbers and mountain bikers find it ideal to explore Snowdonia and the surrounding area. 

It is designed for family groups who want to have a comfortable base and yet be in easy reach of Snowdon and Snowdonia and be able to stroll into the village of Betws Y Coed . The location is great for walking or hiking in Snowdonia. Family groups find the property ideal , we have had 60th birthdays and 60th wedding anniversaries and 40th birthday parties.

The house is ideally located in Betws-Y-Coed right in the heart of the village with easy access to the village of Betws-y-Coed , you can walk to the nearest pub within 3 minutes . Betws -y-Coed train station is about 7 minutes walk away and the main shops are all close. The location makes it perfect as a self catering Welsh cottage.

The location of the house in the village is ideal for access to Snowdon and the heart of Snowdonia and the rest of North Wales.

Betws Y Coed the jewel of Snowdonia ! This property is set in the heart of Betws Y Coed and within an easy drive of Mount Snowdon . Superbly converted Church perched above most of Betws Y Coed but actually within a genuine five minute walk of the Station, the main street and the footpath to Llyn Elsi.

The accommodation has been carefully designed to a very high standard retaining as much of the character of the Church as possible.

Superb open plan accommodation with hardwood double glazing to the front elevation providing both the ground floor lounge and the first floor master suite masses of daylight and excellent views across Betws to the valleys and distant hills.

The property has 4 ensuite bedrooms on the first floor with a further bedroom downstairs. There is a downstairs shower room, which also includes a built in sauna. The property comfortably sleeps up to 10 adults plus children.

Parking for up to 8 cars and a safe garage for bicycles although we are less than 200 metres from Betws bikes.

Please note this is a modern property with excellent fittings and is designed and available for high quality occupants.

The House

Mair- Y - Coed ( Mary of the woods ) the former Catholic chapel of Betws- Y - Coed located in the heart of Betws Y Coed village .

A 3000 sq feet property converted to an exceptional standard with holiday lets in mind. The quality is excellent for a holiday in Snowdonia.

This property is fully self contained and set in its own grounds some 75 metres from the main Holyhead Rd with ample parking and a detached garage.

Rear entrance porch with drying room for those wet coats and boots leading into a utility area with separate washing machine and dryer and stainless steel sink unit with hot and cold water. (There is an outside cleaners sink for getting rid of mud on boots)

From the utility room there is access to an excellent shower room and toilet which gives access to a spacious sauna room for up to eight people - ideal after a soggy day on Snowdon!

The open plan ground floor has oak flooring throughout, the lounge area has a woodburning stove (16kw) to thaw you out.

Some 50 feet away at the opposite end of the Church is a gas fired aga.

There is also a formal dining area which will cater for 12 Plus and a study area or bedroom just off. Every room has a TV point and broadband is available throughout the property.

Relaxing lounge area complete with a 42inch flat screen television with sky sports and movies.

There are central heating radiators in every area with thermostatic valves to ensure that the whole family is kept warm.

In the summer the front of the house opens up with 3 large double doors onto a huge patio for barbecues and socialising.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is fully fitted with black granite worktops with a traditional gas hob and under oven to complement the gas Aga and there is an American style fridge freezer which dispenses cold drinks and ice, microwave and all the usual kitchen equipment with enough crockery , pans and cutlery for parties of 10-12

The kitchen has a patio door which leads to a patio area and the kids can be in and out whilst mum organises dinner and Dad pops the dishes into the dishwasher.

The Bedrooms

Access to the bedroom area is by a galleried staircase to a spacious landing area.Upstairs there is a magnificent master suite with separate dressing room and bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower cubicle - the master bedroom 12` by 25` has patio windows which will lead to the balcony( awaiting planning) with terrific uninterrupted views over the Conwy valley.

Each of the bedrooms has masses of wardrobe space and its own en suite .

The house sleeps 10 adults and children comfortably.

We see our clientele as family groups of 3 generations and confidently expect you to tell us this is the warmest house you have ever been in - we went overboard with the heating and insulation to try and make this the comfiest holiday home in Betws y Coed!

The main bedroom has a large double bed with an additional double sofa bed and room for a travel cot. Two further bedrooms are doubles, with the fourth bedroom sleeping up to 3 adults. There is a double sofa bed downstairs.
